    So I picked up the xbox media remote. Oddly enough, does not support wireless like the controllers do, seems it only does IR and hence will not work inside my media cabinet. So I though about using a USB IR receiver that I have, Any idea how to make it work?

    bad idea to keep an Xbox closed up in a cabinet while on. They need lots of ventilation.
