    All of my media devices do not support windows 8 so I can't stream from the music app. I can however stream from desktop using explorer so was hoping I could find something that would work.

    Using the legacy zune app allows streaming with an active subscription I believe.

    unless you upgrade to Windows 8, your pc will only recognize the zune software.

    What? You can use either with Windows 8. Zune just won't work to sync your WP8.
