I thought it might be a good idea to have a flashlight app on my 820, for emergencies. However, there are legions of them in the app store. Anyone got any particular recommendations? I don't mind paying for a decent one. Thanks in advance.

Flashlight XT has been the one I use, instant ON very fast, interface is cool too
AND I like its icon better than Flashlight-X

Flashlight XT is a no-nonsense flashlight app. Unlike many other flashlight apps (including Flashlight-X), it doesn't use your data connection. Check out the "requires" list for "data services" in the app description page.

Thanks for the replies. I'll check out your suggestions. Why does a torch need a data connection???

I used to use Flashlight-X but it was ugly. Flashlight XT is much faster and is very elegant looking. Looks like part of the OS.

Well, on your recommendations I've just downloaded Flashlight XT. It's basic in the extreme, but it was free and now I've got torch functionality. I can look at your other suggestions at leisure. Thanks everyone.
