One of the main apps I'm waiting for is a Paddy Power app. The thing which strikes me as unusual is there are no betting/casino like apps in the marketplace. Is Microsoft the blocker or could these big players introduce apps?

I am not a betting fanatic but like the occasional "multiple" bet on the weekend; it's my lottery equivalent!! :)

I currently use the site which isn't too mobile friendly! There mobile site is plain awful too. All the time my brother uses a nice designed, quick app on his iPhone :(

I had a Radar and now have an 820. Can't we catch them? Im not a serious gambler but again another area it appears the alternative products win out.

...but as I started. I'd like to think the providers are to blame and not Microsoft! Anyone?

Anyone know? Interested and intrigued if we'll ever see them. I realize it's down to whether they wish to invest in Windows Phone, but do MS block or make it hard for them?

It's probably also dependent on region, since online gambling laws vary in each country.

True. From a selfish point of view then the question is a UK one!

It looks like it would be possible for gambling apps, per Microsoft's app guidelines.
Apps that enable legal gambling in the applicable jurisdiction where legal gambling is allowed may be permitted, subject to the App Provider's acceptance of additional contract terms.

Are nice albeit looks like MS probably want a bit of their pie :) "additional contract terms". Wonder if they're enough to be stopping them or whether it's still a market none of them see value in yet. Arrr' well I live in hope :)
