This is something I've noticed with WP7, On iOS and Android apps are updated every month, on WP7 apps could go months, or in the likes of Twitter years before updates. Why is this?

As with all applications, some update more than others. Though I have to admit, some of them "big" applications take forever to update. I've had applications update weekly, monthly, and some update almost never it would seem.

I guess one possible reason could be the whole resources issues within them companies (though no excuse for applications developed by Microsoft). The company adjusts resources according to demand and exposure. With WP7 having a low userbase it means that a lower amount of resources will be dedicated to the platform than to iOS, or Android for example.

    All speculation of course.

Or it could mean that with the ease of creating apps for WP, not many bugs and not much left to do. With nearly 200 apps/games I get updates petty much daily for something. Some apps update frequently while others have never been updated. Has to do with the interest of the developer and/or the potential for income as was lreasy pointed out.
