(by multi-button I mean volume, call, fwd/rwd)

i dont think i have ever had an issue where any of my wired headset/mics did not work with a certain phone. i have used the stock htc ones with samsung and ive used the stock samsung ones with my lumia 810.

Yeah, I know pack-ins are fine. It's just that for the most part, these are bottom-feeder items. Hence my wish for a list.

that functions as
