I think you can't edit numbers if they are synced through Facebook... I could be wrong though. Tried finding a friend with a phone number listed on FB, but not having much luck

Can't edit or remove numbers if the number is sourced from Facebook.

Ok so I click phone tile then the middle icon which is the contact/people . Then choose the contact. And hit the pencil. Now I did that with my mother in law who isn't on face book and it only shows her name , number and my email listed 3times.so when I click the pencil I can only change her name and other info . Can't change the number I just clicked my.email and I was about to change the number . Wtf why is my email listed 3 times?

Do you have linked accounts attached to your contacts ie Facebook,LinkedIn and so on?

You should be able to edit the number if you link the contact to outlook. No reason to blame Microsoft about not being able to edit facebook info. Would not be cool if just antone could edit info for me etc on facebook.

Facebook has nothing to do with this. Its just a stupid way of having a contact book/list. Its a s s backwards. My mother in law isn't on facebook . For me to edit her number I have to click her contact, then id have to know to click one of my email addresses that's listed then edit her number.

Hi, The answer has been given:
1) Go to people tile
2) Choose the contact you want to change
3) Click the little pen symbol at right bottom of your screen
4) Edit Hotmail or anything like this.
You should be able to change anything, add phone numbers and e-mails, etc.
I hope it helped. - 04-28-2013, 05:07 PM #17
If you can not edit some contact information, that means that information was provided through a linked contact such as: Facebook, LinkedIn, ect. which you can not edit. Check that contact's Facebook, I bet they provided that number.
You can always add more phone numbers to a contact if needed.
