I just received a text message from an unknown person.
I wanted to add them to People, but there was no option (that I saw).
I can add someone that calls.
    What's the difference?

There is this option, click on the number in the messaging hub conversation u have with that number, it should say save at bottom :)

No Save option (there is in Phone, as mentioned).
I have Send (greyed out as I'm not typing anything), Attach, and Speak.
If I hit the three dots, I get Delete Thread.
If I hold down on the number in the main messaging screen (list of all my messages), my only option is Delete.
Is that different than what you have?

It works just like whipped says... at the top of the text thread you tap (don't hold) the phone number. From there you will be able to send a text, call the number, or at the bottom, save.

    Included screenshots...
No such options (unless I'm just completely missing it).

    Thanks...
That was completely unconventional to me, for some reason.

No worries my friend. I've been using Windows Phone for about 2 years now so it's instinctive to me :) Enjoy
