It's a neat feature in windows 8 - devices charm let people play to DLNA renderers (like a tv) and interact with other devices, search and share are pretty useful too. Swiping from right edge might not be possible but hey we have that search button which is a short cut to Bing. And last point is that all these are built on NT.
