    article says it all...

    Microsoft hopes to patent an 'inconspicuous mode' for phones

    I think its pretty cool, the lowest brightness setting on my lumia 920 is a little too bright!

    It's a nice idea, but why not just add a brightness slider? Don't see the point in removing content from the screen.
