Hi guys.

New to WP8, and am struggling with one issue.

When I leave work I get straight on the London Underground (where there is no signal). In previous operating systems I've used, I could set Facebook and the BBC News app to update/sync at regular intervals through the day (where I have a signal at work) and then when I get underground I can check the apps even though there is no signal.

I'm struggling with how to set that up in WP8. I can only seem to refresh the apps in real time.

Any ideas, please? Sorry if it's a stupid question - the answer is probably staring me in the face.

not really. You can do that with email but each app can control its own schedule. Now live tiles will tend to update every 30 minutes so if an app has one it will usually update the content behind it.

That would be entirely up to how the app was written and how they handle caching data.
