Re: Instagram Replacement
Thanks, I use Facebook too, but that's not what I'm looking for. If it was, I'd just be using it. :)

Do you have a source citing a WP app is coming?

Interesting. I'll keep my eye on it. I absolutely hate the "voice" they use on their blog, however. "MOLO feel that it is such a very long happy time being with you all"... ugh.
Re: Instagram Replacement
How about Flickr? It's the original service that Instagram cloned (and added bad filters to), and the Flickr app for WP is wonderful.

The Flickr app hasn't been updated for WP8... is that a problem? Or does it run well?
Re: Instagram Replacement
I've been running it without any problems at all on my 8X.
Re: Instagram Replacement
Hmm. Ok, that's good info. I hope they do update the app, though... the new Flickr iOS app is pretty damned awesome.
(Not starting a debate, just saying.)
Re: Instagram Replacement
I know a couple of people at Yahoo... Marissa Mayer, the new CEO, is pushing iOS, Android and WP8 as the key mobile platforms. I'd imagine we'll see an update.

Tell 'em to quit charging for Flickr memberships, then. :D
Re: Instagram Replacement
Why do you need the app to have its own user environment, why not post to the user environments you already have? Lomogram is fantastic and uses the networks I already have and use.
Also, if you are open to Flickr, Lomogram uses Flickr (among other services)

The pro account is what makes Flickr great and why you don;'t have to worry about your picture of you having a budweiser turns into the next budweiser ad.

Look at this Instagram (Nickelback Parody) on CollegeHumor"
sorry but instagram has officially become the network for d-bags. apps that can apply image filters to ****ty photos have been around a long time, but to create an entire network where amateurs can swap ****ty filtered photos....well now that just takes the cake.
Re: Instagram Replacement
Yeah, I saw the video, it's funny. I also get that some people don't use/don't care about/actively despise Instagram. I respect that. I would hope that others would respect the fact that some people don't feel that way, and would respect the fact I specifically stated I didn't want to discuss the merits of Instagram in this thread. There are many other threads for that. So thanks, but... not the thread for that.
Re: Instagram Replacement
Even if there was a cross platform alternative, would your friends actually start using that alternative just for you?

I think people dont realize that many people including my friends just take normal pictures on there and you can comment on their pictures. It's actually quite nice and not just a phot app with filters.
