It's been updated to V 4.0 and is a LOT faster and smoother. They also appear to have fixed the problems that earlier versions had with tile notifications not updating correctly.

You can get it by searching for the app and tapping "update" on the app screen in the store.

Setting>About. will give you the version number. I'm on version 4.1.0.0 to be exact.

I'm getting notifications -- and I don't have to close the app to reset the count anymore. For the first time! Yayyyyy!

notifications were working pretty well before the update. FB app is so much better on WP8, in comparison to WP7
