How do you pay with it with those little scanners? MasterCard paypass. What about American Express? And gift cards? Movie tickets? Etc.

I don't think you CAN yet... I actually tried it this morning. PayPass is in all McDonald's. As of now, on my Lumia 920, I can't put in a Credit Card for anything other than ear marked for "app purchases".
Here is a place to try?: London buses now accept NFC contactless payments, if you have the magic logo London's Buses.

Any other help?

checked in Canada and nothing available here at all. I have my Visa in the Wallet but not able to change from just app purchases to anything else.:( Gotta wait for a VISA or MC app to go along with the wallet would be my best guess.

Yea I actually thought Wallet had the actual feature to pay with NFC ir show a barcode... But I guess its just a database that actually needs a third party app to pay using your phone

The wallet is there ready for when the partnerships are in place/ the carriers ( shock) get their act together. A special type of secure sim card is required I believe which we do not yet have. So we are waiting on the verizon/ att/ t mobile partnership to get a move on and provide us with it! ( I think I am right atleast )

In the US, it will be ISIS which just launched in two cities as test cities.
Welcome to Isis - 12-13-2012, 09:35 PM #11
Waiting on secure sim from carrier to make this possible. You info is saved on the sim instead of on the phone like google wallet does.

I really think you have your hatred in the wrong place.
MS created the Wallet feature to do exactly what we all want it to do. It is there, it CAN do it...
The Carriers though have not figured out a way to monetize the wallet feature yet, and until they DO figure that out, we won't get it. You first got Ring Tones when they could sell them to you, got SMS once they created the new pay scale for them...same with Data.
They will get their contracts in place...demanding 1% from Mastercard on all transactions (since they will say it is the fact they THEY are putting the phone in our hands that is causing us to WANT to use that CC...) And until they get that contract in place (ISIS as mentioned) we will get NOTHING! - 12-17-2012, 04:39 PM #17
Microsoft could (afaik) use NFC for contactless pay instead of waiting for the secure SIM but they chose to work with the carriers instead of competing with them which makes sense on some levels. I hoped at the very least it would be adopted like Apple's wallet feature for 3rd party apps for rewards cards, tickets, etc but at the moment there is almost no 3rd party support for the wallet.
