More games are needed for the push to relevancy. I personally am a console gamer but I see why people would want to flick birds across a screen.

Microsoft always says that games are coming ! Last year when asphalt 5 was said to be coming at the launch of WP7.5 devices, it came a year late and at this time it was too late coz on other OS asphalt7 is available and hence the second class treatment of people mocking the lack of apps. The only reason I still have my iPhone with me is coz of the games and the variety and quality of it too. The only game I play on my lumia 920 was angry birds space. My point is how long will be treated as second class users. Rockstar games are bringing some fantastic ports of their classic games on to iOS and android and there's no word on WP8 even in future releases. I'm also a console gamer but I can't carry my console everywhere, right ? I'm just saying that we need some high profile games that will be stunning and shine to WP8 hardware specs glory rather than angry birds ! For example when real racing 3 was announced for iPhone 5 ! That game has jaw dropping visuals, when will we have something even close to that ? Even NFS: most wanted is absent. I'm just scared that the wait for games is not as big as the wait on wp7.5 games. *fingers crossed*
P.S - its my dream to play GTA on my lumia 920 coz I hate my iPhone but I can't give it up for all those amazing game titles it has - 12-12-2012, 07:34 PM

Same case here, coz I love Nokia and OS and I want to make it my sole device but its still growing and apps are still being made so I can't totally give up on my iPhone as I love to play games and WP8 despite of being quoted as a gaming phone with all high profile gaming engine support yet has no games, so once the games start pouring in then I'll give up my iPhone and I hope its not a year long wait for that :/

I know ! I'm scared that like last time they delayed games so badly especially asphalt 5 (gameloft) and many gameloft games were announced this time and what an horrible port of real football was brought to WP7.5 devices ! Its pathetic, I hope to see some class this time and we don't get games when they're already a year old on other devices

The Newest Hit Games Are on Windows Phone 8 - Xbox.com
They advertise being able to play these games "beginning this holiday". I would sure love some timely Christmas announcements of these games. - 12-13-2012, 10:57 PM #40
when I had Galaxy S2, I waited for Asphalt 7... the game took 4-6 months to launch on Google play (after launch of ios version)... because of ics update, not because of hardware capabilities... and now they release the game to both os at same time... because they have new version android sdk from start... So, WP8 also have the same situation... wait for good 6 months, if after 6 month still not available promised games than, this question get valid...

Games are important and games are the major selling point of any OS. The era of PSP is long gone now coz no one's going to carry a separate device for gaming and for calling. With heavy specs of a device comes heavy expectation of how apps will take advantage of that. Games like real racing 3 and most wanted and GTA have amazing graphics for a handheld device and Lumia's snapdragon can easily deliver such games but there's nothing here that actually uses the core specs to its max and why I'm complaining is coz gameloft gave high hopes last times launch of WP 7.5 phones, it released few titles to show some progress then horribly delayed asphalt 5 (when the world is playing asphalt 7) and some horribly old version of real soccer. Windows Phone is seriously the best OS out there, iOS is too dull and Android is a ditto copy but why such crappy OS sell is coz of the amazing app collection they have and beautiful HD games. I don't know why developers also treat us like second class user base and we get all the horrible ports of their OS, now the real story will be clear once all the sales figures are out and one would actually know how much the market share has increased for more developers to come our way. I guess more 3 years down the line windows phone would be all established just like iPhone but god knows till then what craze is there in the apple and Samsung family which will again over shadow us WP users

Id never play anything that requires timing or precision like a shooter on a phone. Id MUUUUCH rather have a PSP if I had to go without a mouse/keyboard setup.
Playing a FPS or 3rd person shooter with touch controls is like eating your own foot. It just sucks.
Games like FF and IloMilo and Chrono Trigger, though... bring them on. And racing games are good. - 12-14-2012, 08:26 PM

Infact I say bring majority of Xbox titles to WP8. Every OS has its flaws but it gets covered by the quality\quantity of apps but WP8 is perfect so far but the lack of apps brings the dent of imperfection on it which is totally not fair. Lumia 920 deserves to be selling like iPhone 5 coz its such an amazing feature packed phone where all the android and iPhones fall short but people hesitate to jump on the Lumia wagon despite the phone being perfect is coz of the lack of apps from instagram ( I don't use it but its a big selling point for any OS) to Spotify to variety of games to even whatsapp which had a buggy version but has disappeared claiming a super fast wp8 version will be there with new emote support ! This should have been there while the Phones were released and not now as giving some favor to a beggar, new updated whatsapp is there on other OS since ages ! Come on developers, step up and make this OS live up to what it deserves

I completely agree... with the botched up launch and months of nothingness makes me wonder if MS actually has a dedicated WP team. (feels like I just adopted a faster WP7). I had/got high hopes for WP8 BUT i'm not going to make excuses for them.
going to be interesting to see what happens when BB10 launches and see if they bring the support and apps
