I just got my Windows Phone 8 today, and am trying to figure out mail notifications. I'm using ActiveSync, and alerts for mail that goes to my inbox works just fine. I have several rules that filter messages to subfolders, and while I've got those subfolders successfully syncing, I'm not getting alerts for that mail. Am I missing something, or is there not a way to get notified for these messages?

I'd like to know that too. Currently I'm manually going into the settings and then Folders and seeing which folders have unread mail next to them.

Found the answer - you have to pin each folder to the desktop to get notifications. Not ideal at all, but it's better than no alerts.

Thanks Brian. I don't like having a tile for each folder on my Start Screen but it will have to do for now.
