Hi, this is my first time posting and I just want to apoligze if this is something that has an easy fix or is a problem everyone is having and I somehow missed but i couldn't find the answer while scouring through the forums so I decided to post my question here.

I got my 8x yesterday and its been working great. It took some getting used to, as I had never used a Windows device before, but it was not a steep learning curve. However, today, I had gotten a text from a friend earlier and when I went to read it, the message wasn't there. I tried sending a text back to him but it won't let me send one either. Theres a "connecting" indicator at the top of the screen but that doesn't seem to ever stop no matter how long I wait. The app occasionally does not start up when I tap on it and when it does open, sometimes my previous texts don't load. I've restarted a couple of times but the problem still persists. When I check the messaging app's settings, often the facebook chat option is not there.

I am at a loss and I can't seem to find an answer to my problem.

I have this exact same problem! I can't send/receive any text messages. Going to try a hard reset... :(

Go to settings, email and accounts, and check to see if any of them are stuck syncing. If they are stuck syncing, uninstall Skype.
