I have just upgraded from an Arrive on Sprint to a Lumia 920 on AT&T. Most things are better, but I have one major problem: I used to listen to my favorite radio station, WBUR (our local NPR affiliate) like all the time. Usually, I used the built-in radio, but occasionally I would use TuneIn Radio. Both options are gone.
WBUR makes a ton of streams available from their Web site (Live Stream | WBUR), but crazily, not a single one works on my Windows Phone. Why the heck not? I used to listen to some of these same streams on my 1) Palm Treo (PalmOS), 2) Audiovox SMT5600 (Windows Mobile), 3) Nokia E71 (Symbian), and 4) Palm Pre (webOS), but ironically cannot on my brand-spanking-new Windows Phone device.
Does anyone have any suggestions to rectify this problem? - 11-27-2012, 02:33 PM #2
Probably flash based stream players which of course is not supported on most newer devices now. Just today i sent a support ticket to TuneIn radio's site about the WP app to see if they would give me any info on a WP8 update so hopefully we'll get some feedback (or better yet an update) soon.

When I emailed TuneIn support a week or so ago all I got was a generic email that didnt even relate to what I asked:
Thank you for your feedback. Our development team used your feedback in our development and testing process and has just pushed to Apple a new update, version 3.01. As soon as Apple approves the update, it will be available for download. Once it is approved and available, we will post any known issues with this version 3.0.1 to our FAQs (http://tunein.com/support/ios/). Thank you again for your feedback and your patience.
Haha, this is what I emailed to them:
I'm using Windows Phone 8 on a HTC 8X. Tunein isn't in the store. I've read different things on the internet about it being there at one point and then being pulled. Any clarification on the windows phone 8 version and when or if it will be available for use.
It really is the best radio app on any platform and as an ex iPhone user I am sorely missing it on my windows phone. Help!
So they didnt even read it by the sounds of it lol - 11-27-2012, 03:05 PM #9
Oh no, I think they read it...
TuneIn representative: "Oh look, an email from a customer. Let's see...bla bla bla bla bla bla...."
*skims to bottom*
"... bla bla bla... OH! LOOK! It says iPhone! This person must be asking about the new update"
*clicks 'iPhone canned response button*
"There we go. Great work today"
