I've been wondering if having a light instead of black themed background behind the tiles will cause battery to drain a bit quicker? I liked the way it looks a LOT, but don't want to use battery because it's much brighter on the screen throughout menus and when the phone is in use...

Anyone have any input on this at all?

I believe it only makes a difference on an AMOLED display

    Yes, only on AMOLED displays.

And the difference on AMOLED screens is significant. Black on an LED screen is basically "off" while white is on full blast.
