What's the deal with web browsers for Windows 8 Mobile Phones??? Firefox and let's say Dolphin cant have their own browsers for this phone ??
Ive got a major problem. I can not access my Domain Control Panel at all with IE8. With my old Android I was able to use any Web Browser but IE8 for phone says this kind of URL is basically not supported.
Example of URL I am trying to use is this -- http://gator950.hostgator.com:9787
Edit: This is a DEAD URL on purpose. I am not listing the correct port number for example purposes

MS sucks with browsers. I don't care how quick IE is it lacks so many basic options and continues to lag behind others, just like they do in the computer browser world.
They either need to admit defeat in this area or just please put some others with vision and common sense in charge.
I'm highly disappointed w/ IE mobile in WP8. Its a skeleton of what even an average mobile browser should be.

Overall there is a ton of stuff and features that are really "dumbed down" for idiots kinda. For advanced and power users, I feel like I only have half a brain and my arms cut off. Kinda wish i had more freedom and may look into options to Root this device, but then I'd be taking a major risk of voiding my warranty

Come on. I wouldn't even try to open my Domain Control Panel from my Samsung Galaxy S2. You'd have to pinch to zoom every page and then hope the links worked, and hope your zooming didn't open one of the links. There are somethings you just don't do on a phone.Check out the great deals on Windows Phone Accessories: http://store.wpcentral.com

I am not really trying to access my Domain Control Panel but trying to use the SquirrelMail feature. Ive got a bunch of email addresses that I'd like to check.
I could just create the account on the phone to check mail, but I don't even seen an option in the Options to leave copy of original mail on my Domain so i can download it later from a PC using Outlook for example.

I'm happy now. I found a browser called UC Browser and Im able to check my mail now. SquirrelMail does not seem to be supported but luckily my domain gives me 3 choices and there is another client called Horde that let's me check web based mail through a browser

I can open my domain's admin panel using https://mydomain.com:1212 using IE10 on my HTC 8X. The main issue in the sample url in the original post is the insecure protocol. Https is key to make it work.
