Anyone have any information on what error code 80070018 is when syncing with a pop email address? I've removed and re-added the account and still get the error message.

I've had the same problem too. Removing / re-adding will partially solve the problem. You will still continue to receive mail but downside is, you will get the error everytime it does a "pull". Frustrating indeed.

Update: After fiddling around with it some more, I realize that this could be a problem with the OS caching. Prior to this, I had a problem with the phone locking up. I tried to retrieve new emails by manually tapping sync and got the error stating that last updated was 4 hours ago, with the error code 80070018. I wasn't getting any emails then. I switched off the phone, but it wouldn't turn on when I tried. So I did a soft reset (volume down + power), and once it booted up, everything was running, except for this email account that I had problem with. I then proceeded to remove and re-add the account. Now mails do come in, only problem is, it still shows the last updated 4 hours ago error message with error code 80070018.

Man, I've never had such a problem on my Lumia 800. What a fail it is for Microsoft, yet again.

Has anyone solved this problem? Email Error "Not updated" Error Code 80070018 "We're having a problem downloading messages. Make sure you have a connection and your account info is correct, and then try again.

I have a Windows Phone Nokia Lumia 822 and this error started out-of-the-blue no changes on my part. I have 4 business email accounts on my Windows Phone. Only one of these emails is having this problem "Error Code 80070018" it is an email using Godaddy's POP3 email server - email.secureserver.net I have tried turning off the phone, soft rebooting the phone with down vol + power, pulling the battery from the phone, removing the email account completely from my windows phone and then adding the email account back again. I've tried calling GoDaddy support and they blame Windows Phone software. Here's the weird part - my emails actually do get updated on my Windows Phone BUT I still get the same error code. I get the same error message every time the phone SYNCS when I'm sending or receiving but only with this one POP3 email account at email.secureserver.net by Godaddy.

Has anyone solved this problem? Is it Microsoft? Is it Godaddy? Is it Operator Error?

Are you continuing to get the "Error Code 80070018" on your Windows Phone device?

I noticed you said your using "email.secureserver.net". For POP3 accounts you will want to use pop.secureserver.net as the incoming mail server.
