So I never really liked my live id. But it's what was available when I bought my wp7 phone. Then MS came out with outlook.com. Of course they told you if you upgraded your account then you would have to reset your phone.

I went ahead and grabbed the outlook.com id I wanted to use. Now, is it possible to merge the accounts so I can use my new ID but not lose all my purchases, calendars, 20GB skydrive space, etc?

You can associate an email, but I'm not sure that merges the two.

I'm also planning on switching ID's on my new phone, just going from @live.com.au to @live.com, will then update my Xbox profile. Hope their will be an easy way to get purchased apps onto the new phone. Both addresses are linked so contacts and calendar should be shared(?)
