Hey everybody, I'm a recent iPhone to WP convert. Loving the OS so far, but I ran into one issue today. Sometimes I like to use the contraction "that'd" (as in "that'd be fine"). The phone won't autocorrect "thatd" to "that'd", but "that'd" does show up in the suggested word bar at the top of the keyboard. Because of this, I'm not able to add "that'd" to the dictionary and it won't autocorrect. Does anyone know a way around this?

I'm not sure im following this correctly. If you type out a word and tap it to highlight it, then in your suggestions bar there should be a + sign next to it. tap that and you should be alright. But still, not sure if I followed that correctly. Hope this helps.

I have no clue why I wrote what I wrote. It doesn't make a whole lot of sense. :P

Basically, I'd like the phone to add the apostrophe between "that" and "d" without me having to go into the symbols keyboard. There was something in iOS that allowed you to type shortcuts like this. You could tell it to interpret OMG as "oh my god" and stuff like that.

Please allow me to throw in some shameless advertising for my NickWrite app (see NickWrite « Das Megos .NET-Weblog), because it does offer exactly such shortcuts, and some other things that make writing easier.

Disadvantage is, of course, that you have to use this app to write; it can't replace or improve the built-in keyboard itself because of technical limits.
