I just got a lumia 900 and am new to windows phone...I was watching a video on you tube and realized that I couldn't skip ahead by dragging my finger across the progress bar at the bottom. THe only option is to hit the skip ahead button which only moves 30-60 seconds at a time. Is there a way to skip ahead by dragging my finger across the progress bar?

There's a free app called youtube pro that will allow you to drag the progress bar.

So if I'm watching a video in ie9 that is embedded in a website (other than youtube...perhaps cnn.com for example) then I can't skip ahead by dragging my finger?

For me it skips in 5-10 second increments. If you press and hold it,it goes a second at a time.
