AT&T's website says the Focus i917 is compatible, but the phone rep says it's not. Search reveals bunch of folks have implemented USB tethering, but I don't see wi-fi tethering. What's the real answer folks? Thanks

No.. They didn't.. But there are free and easy ways to turn it on by hacking your phone. Check out windowbreak and go from there...

I spent 2 months on-off trying to get SNR management/Technical etc comment on WHY they are not supporting the Focus Gen1 handset with Samsung and a Tethering Update. To my knowledge, the radio chip in the Focus is the same as original Omnia 7.

Here's my chronicle on it - and the ultimate WORRYING ATT reply:

ATT have no plans to bring Tethering update to the Samsung Focus. |

Just unlock it and enable tethering. Easy to do. Would probably take no more than 5 minutes.
