I have been keeping an eye out for DLNA and NFC for a while, but I honestly don't even understand how to use them. I know they're up and coming and I understand the gist of what they do, but I don't understand how to use them practically. My roommate is in the middle of setting up a XBMC server, but I'm not sure how that'll work with my phone, either.

I know DLNA allows our electronics to "talk" to one another so that we can have a cell phone remote, etc, but has anyone had the opportunity to use it yet? What are some examples?

I also know NFC is...well NFC. I know we will one day be able to use it to pay for things instead of a credit card, but is that even an option yet? I've seen many stores where I can use an NFC device, but I have yet to see an app or banking option for it. Any one else?

I would love to have nfc. It's probably a long way off from being widely available in my area but I'm very interested.
