Hey all, I'm considering grabbing a used WP7 device (maybe the focus?) and using it as my iPod Touch per se (I hate apple and refuse to support them).

Is this possible without having a cell phone account on it? Will everything work (Zune, xbox live, email, etc) over wifi? Will it be able to be updated etc etc?

Yes, everything will work. Just use the wifi connection. Not sure if the phone will be able to receive updates.

I have a client that has an Optimus 7 just like that. Today he texted me about his Mango update and stuff. So the phone definitely works fine like that.

This. I love my ZuneHD. Small, light, durable, every app is free, has all the features you need in a PMP.
