I currently have all my pictures on a NAS drive and use iPhoto on a mac with a reference library pointing to the pictures on the NAS. I really like iPhoto, the interface with events, dates, facial rec, GIS location etc. Any suggestions for something similat to use on Windows 8.

I would love to but I cannot get around this indexing error from Microsoft when I try to add my NAS folders to my Pictures folder through Managing media. Without add this folder, Pictures will not be shown unless I import them locally

Have you tried adding the NAS to Libraries > Photo?
I've never set up a NAS so I'm just spit balling."Engineering is more than just the number of megapixels." - Stephen Elop - 01-22-2013, 08:19 AM

Yes. Same problems as thousands of others, cannot add a NAS folder as the folder is not indexed error.
The only solution I have found is to sync the folder to allow offline access. Not the best way as I end up using up my PC hard drive to store a copy. - 04-15-2013, 05:59 AM #6
