Or download a calculator from the store, there are plenty different calculators available. Some of them are sized so they fit exactly in the small part of the dual-screen mode.

I downloaded Calculator2, its nice and all, metro design, snapview fit, but I see why MS didn't make calculator or notepad RT apps. The splash screen! Every app, no matter how stupid or inconsequential takes time to open. Calculator should be instantaneous, notepad as well. I don't believe it really takes that long to open which leads me to believe there is a minimum splash screen duration...

there is at the very least a transition (the "spin into view effect") but I suspect one you load it it is so light on resources you dont have to worry about it.

Ahh claiming to suffer from a lack of a calculator so you can pimp your own product!
