I was able to rent Prometheus in HD on my xbox, but went i went to xbox movies on my surface it was only available in SD? Can anyone comfirm that this is what they see?

I started to browse around xbox movies on my Surface and found that most are only available in SD.

I called xbox support and they had no idea why HD availability would be different on the xbox and Surface. It would be very unfortunate if Microsoft did this on purpose, due to licensing restrictions or something else.

I didnt buy or rent an HD movie, but i believe i saw spiderman available in HD, i downloaded the preview in HD, looked good on the surface.

Some movies have some dont.

I understand that some movies are not available in HD. What I do not understand is why the same movie is available in HD on the Xbox but only SD on the Surface. Prometheus is one example. When I get home I will browse my Xbox for more examples.
