So yeah.. We don't have a flash.. not a huge deal anymore. On my android tablet I could use porn sites because I had flash and I could set the user agent to desktop. On an ipad I could use porn sites because most sites made an ipad html5 version. On an android tablet with no flash (jellybean) I could set the user agent to ipad and run the sites..
I have none of these options on the surface. I can't change the user agent far as I know.. the sites view IE as a mobile browser for some reason.. Anyone found a solution or what? - 10-26-2012, 06:18 PM

That worked... nice. Strictly in the name of knowledge of course.
Seriously though you may have just prevented a return. - 10-26-2012, 06:24 PM

Hello WPCentral Community!!
Do websites like ESPN3 work on the RT? If a broadcast is not allowed on mobile devices like Monday Night Football on androids, will it work on a SURFACE RT?
I guess the main question is, will Surface be considered a mobile device or computer by content limiting websites? - 10-26-2012, 06:33 PM #10
just wanted to add html5 is always the better option in my opinion, so much smoother. So setting to iPad is probably a good idea
Edit: Just ran across the same issue as you on a flash site. Sigh.Last edited by Stormwatch342; 10-26-2012 at 06:39 PM.

People changing user agent...is going to make it look like there is only fewer windows rt machines than actual number...

IE 10 has flash but it's only for "white listed sites" - sites that Microsoft has okayed (that list is always being updated I believe). ESPN 3 works fine...actually watching it right now. Desktop IE I think will work on any site...I really don't go to the desktop very often. I've actually unpinned it.

I'm surprised it took this long for somebody to be blunt. Porn drives most emergent technology. Not a fan personally, but no judgment...

Yes sites like HBOGo, WatchESPN (ESPN3), and Amazon Instant Video all work on my surface. Whether or not they will filter broadcasts for it, I don't know. I don't have any android, but if the android only uses ESPN3 through an app, since on the surface you can access via Internet Explorer you may get lucky in them not noticing it's a 'mobile' device. Not sure though

Well, maybe i'm wrong. The one setting that they share is the favorite list. Once i wanted to delete a favorite entry in metro IE but could not find out how. So I went to the desktop IE and deleted the favorite entry from there. So I thought other settings may be shared as well...
