So if this is in the wrong area for this post I apologize in advance; and I've also searched high and low and have not found my specific issue, so here goes:

I am on Office 2013 (or whatever they are calling it right now...monthly billing version) and downloaded it clean on my new Surface Pro on day one of it's release. I have a work account that I set up immediately via IMAP and everything works fine. When I try to add my Live.com account via "add account" everything works fine until the first "send/receive" in which Outlook crashes, restarts and promptly crashes again. Over and over and over. I quickly click options and delete the Live.com account and it stops crashing. Add the account back and the crashing continues.

I'm frustrated as I have to use the web for my Live email while using Outlook for my work. I want them unified.

For the record my laptop had Office 2010 on it with both my IMAP work account and my Live.com account and it worked fine. The minute I upgraded to 2013 it began to crash as well so it has been deleted from the laptop too.

Any help here would be appreciated. I know it's most likely something easy...at least I hope so.

And yes, I've deleted and re-installed.

    Thank you in advance.

I can't say I have heard of this issue and it is puzzling because I know several people with Live accounts and Office 2013. One suggestion I would make though is to convert it to an outlook.com account and see if that helps. That is what I did with my Hotmail and have loved it ever since. I'll reach out to some of my co-workers and see if they have hears/seen anything along these lines.

    Thanks!

OK, I know in the older versions of Office, you had to download and install the "Hotmail connector" to get Outlook to work with Hotmail/Live/Outlook account's.

I'm not sure if you still need to or not with Office 2013.

You do not need it anymore. I know for Outlook.com, you are full Active Sync to sync mail.

I tried this and it did not work. Won't get past the "enter password" portion of the program. Very frustrating.

It was already installed on both my laptop and my new Surface Pro. Still not working.

I've had this issue before. If it's only outlook crashing then it has always been an add on that I have running that would cause the problem. Check your addons in outlook and turn off any that didn't come with outlook.

This did not work. It would not accept my Outlook.com email. Back to square one.
