    I just bought an unlocked Samsung Focus i917 from Amazon but don't live in the States. I'm quite annoyed with the ATT start flash screen because I'm not on that network. Is there any way I can disable this feature?

    I doubt that's possible, I know on my old BlackBerrys that flash screen was coded into the device ROM not the OS RAM.

    No, but how often do you see it? I restart my phone about once a month. Not that annoying.

    My Bell HD7 doesn't have a carrier splash screen... Also I played with a TELUS Lumia 800 recently and it didn't have a carrier splash screen either. My last phone was a qwerty feature phone and it had a splash screen. Very strange.
