Just spoke with a Verizon rep a few minutes ago. I had voiced interest in the HTC 8x...he said they were informed today by "a big man upstairs " that Verizon is getting a Samsung model in late January. He didn't have specs, but said they were told high end phone, big screen aimed at competing with Galaxy S3, Droid DNA, etc. He said they were told could get pushed back to early February, worst case scenario.

I would guess that it's the Ativ Odyssey Steve Ballmer teased at the launch event, it would be strange if an unannounced device beat an announced one to market

well i hope it is the full size phone like the S3, not a cheapened smaller version.
