Its of no surprise that Samsung copies everything that works, the Nokia N9 had an app called Air UI which basically is for all intensive purposes the father of Air View , All of Nokia lenses were introduced as features in the S4 (Burton/cinemagraph/smartshoot erase.) . the super sensitive touch , even the adaptive screen mode where colors shift to get better viewing of colors under sunlight , Samsung also introduced a Bluetooth game controller that was identical to Xbox controller down the buttons colors and D-pad design.
And although I still haven't seen all the hands on and features of the software you could bet there's things stolen from other companies too.
Samsung is only able to produce high specs hardware for cheap because of several advantages that South Korea gives to big companies (Directly or Indirectly like cheap currency and labor)They claim MS saved Nokia, I say Nokia saved MS, and every other WP OEM has a commitment that is BS.
A WP8 Feature that is hardly used.
2 years later is Elop's strategy panning out?
Have a quick laugh here... :) - 03-15-2013, 04:06 AM #3

just sue these bastards. Samsung seems to be copying anything, and somehow they're so popular and have nothing original

I think everyone needs to relax on this.
Everyone here knows that every major Android manufacturer (excluding Motorola, but that is coming kicking and screaming aside) pays a "per handset" royalty to MS for patents that Android uses, right? That "per handset" royalty nets MS tons of cash every year from Samsung (rightfully so!!). But it covers ALL of the patents, so Samsung can't be sued by MS when the price is already being paid.
Now, that doesn't excuse Samsung copying, but it does put them legally in the clear."So I recommend having fun, because there is nothing better for people in this world than to eat, drink, and enjoy life. That way they will experience some happiness along with all the hard work during the days God gives them under the sun."

This should have made "From the Forums". Oh well.

WTF? Samsung needs to get sued, they copy great ideas and then somehow sell millions of units.

I don't think it covers all the patents that relate to WP design. The android-related royalties are more to do with basic technology portfolio that MSFT owns since 2000 smartphone days and more gained after NOK-MSFT marriage. The licensing fees have existed before WP7 existed.

People copy, thats the way it always is. The ball is now in MS's court, lets see them serve up something cool and exciting, perhaps expand on this design even.
Ultimately, this benefits us, the consumer. If Samsung didn't copy Metro, then MS wouldn't have to make Metro BETTER. - 03-17-2013, 12:02 AM #17

Wasn't there a saying imation is the most sincerest form of flattery? MS should keep improving metro so samsung and htc android copies continues to look like cheap knockoffs.
