Do you use 12-hour or 24-hour time on your devices?
I like 24-hour time and use it on my Nokia Lumia 900 and on my computers. The reason I prefer 24-hour time is because there will never be issues with settings alarms for evening instead of morning by mistake.
How about you? Which do you prefer?
12 hour and the answer is simple: I am too lazy to subtract 12 from everything when it gets to be afternoon.
12-hour, no need to use anything different here in USA, it will only confuse the poor local population if I'll tell them it's currently "17:35" when asked for a time ;-) When I visit my relatives on the other continent I of course switch to a proper 24-hour world standard ;-)
I still tell people the time using 12-hour time. I just don't see the 12-hour time on my device. At least for me, it's easy to read 17:21 and say 5:21 PM.Quote:

24 hour time and international date format. I used to do tech support for law enforcement and I've interned at NOAA.
12 hour clock in the states. 24 hour clock when overseas. I am prior military so either clock is ok.
When I was in Boy Scouts, enough of the troop leaders used 24 hour format, so I just got use to using it on my watches and devices. I use 24-hour time, and tend to speak/text it, but I've also caught myself using 12-hour (just not as frequently).
24 for me former marine so gotta stick to what I know
24-hour time, UK date format. Simple, I can easily distinguish between AM and PM. Plus I prefer to read it as 24-hour too. Everything I know of is set to 24-hour time too.
12 hr time... Cause 24 hr time is so last week.

I think this is also one of the hard parts for people starting to learn English here. But after a while AM is easy to remember, it's just short for "Am Morgen" and PM is the other one... :wink:
I mostly use 12-hour time since I too am sometimes lazy to try and process what the time is in 24-hour. But at the moment, I'm watching through 24 (tv series) again, so I have to froce myself to process what the time is :wink:
Only 24 hour, I actually read in my head the time 17:21 as 521, I convert it easily

I'm former military as well, but use 12 hour. Never thought about changing it to 24. Whenever I do see 24 my mind automatically subtracts 12 from my Navy days.
12-hour, although 95% of my country uses 24-hour time.
I never was in the military, but my father had been in the Army and he taught me how to tell time; so I learned 12-hour and 24-hour time.
12-hour time worked better for me when I had an old-fashioned wind-up alarm clock. It's easy to forget the "AM" or "PM" setting on the alarm feature on devices. I made the mistake of picking PM instead of AM once. Lucky for me, I woke up without the alarm. I started using 24-hour time after that.
24hr - no point with AM/PM, but I say the time in 12HR (again, no need for AM/PM), plus, I do enjoy saying X-hundred hours :-D
Im in the military but 24h is sandard in I guess most European countrys.
And theres no need to subtract once your used to it, 21 = 9, thats just how it is, if someone asks and its 22:30 I answer 10:30 wiyhout thinking.

I use 12 hour time but I am tempted to set my devices on 24 hour time to train myself to memorize it.
