Does anyone notice poor signal strength with their 928? I notice my wife's Galaxy S3, and my sons Iphone get more bars than I do. Here at home, I will fluctuate between 1 and 2 bars, and they usually get 3 - 4 bars of service. I will drop a call once in a while, and they don't.
Also where I work, we get very poor signal. My co worker has an S4, and can surf the internet, all be it slow, but my phone won't even open a page or video. It just says page can't be displayed.

Bars aren't really an accurate way of comparing signal strength between different phones because each company might show it differently. On Android phones you can see what the signal strength in dB is in the settings, not sure if there is an app that will show that on a Windows phone.

Yes, they are also on Verizon. If anyone knows of an app to show signal strength, that would be great.
I have heard bars aren't an accurate way of measuring signal, but like I said, the Lumia wont even try to open a web page, where as the guy I work with that has a Galaxy phone can surf the web..

I'm 600 yards from my closest tower. My Droid X always showed 4 bars -- the 928 shows 2-3 bars. Phone and data perform as expected with my proximity to the tower.
The displayed signal strength has to do with how the display is calibrated. If it works without issues I wouldn't worry about it. An app that displayed the actual signal strength in dbm would be useful.

Can you go to "Settings" and then look for "Cellular" and then can you check if you have the option to change "Highest Data Connection". Try changing it from LTE to 3G or 2G.
See if that changes your signal strength.
Did this on my 822 and I got full bars when I changed from LTE to 3G.

Nokia 928 on Verizon here. My girlfriend has Samsung Galaxy S4 on Verizon with identical plan.
My previous Galaxy Nexus on Verizon started to suffer more and more with data inside my apartment.
Girlfriend's S4 has improved data in my apartment since she got hers.
Then I got the 928 which clocks her S4 in data speed in my apartment.
Not really going by bars, rather SpeedTest app. 928 is just faster for me.

On other Nokia devices that have GSM instead of CDMA, they could launch the field test with ##Data in the dial menu, but its completely blocked on mine. Also there is no manual switch to select 2G 3G or 4G. Its on or off. However, their is a developer app that can launch it, but the whole thing is still blank. I guess they didn't ever finish it in time.
Here's the thread in another forum I mentioned this.

Well, I picked up a Droid DNA from Ebay, and it does seem to get a better signal at my workplace. I will miss my 928, but I got to go with the phone that gets the better service.
After having the Android phone for a week now, I really do miss the Windows phone 8 operating system. Hopefully I can come back when my upgrade is due.

I'm switching back and forth between a BlackBerry Q10 (long time BlackBerry loyalist here) and my Lumia 928. I'm also keen to try the Moto X, but only if I can get it in 32GB and with MotoMaker's customization.
