Got a message from Newegg that they were out of stock

We receive deliveries several times each day and are turning the phones around and shipping them to customers immediately. This is the second out of stock in the past week or so. Mine shipped on Saturday and shows delivery on Tuesday, 5/28. It's my first buy from a non Verizon source. I'm a bit scared but hopeful that it works and I won't have to go through very many hoops if I have a problem.
The past out of stock took about 5 business days to recover so I would think they would be able to ship this weekend.

I've ordered tons of stuff from newegg over the years and have generally had good experiences and service. However, I'd say they aren't on top of things like they used to be. You can tell they're being squeezed around the edges -- shipping is not as good and like Amazon, they seem to have more independent vendors coming under their umbrella. I question whether controls are as good as they used to be. That being said, I have no reason to believe they aren't trustworthy. Just slower.

I placed an order with Amazon on 5/22 for a Lumia 928 in black on their $49.99 deal. Delivery was scheduled for yesterday, 5/28. Well, the phone never shipped. Guess they had a rush and the system didn't update in time. I understand these things happen, however Amazon never even contacted me until this morning. Even then, the email only informed me about a delivery delay on the SIM card - nothing about the phone! Luckily I'm not in a big hurry, but I was pissed at the lack of customer service. Just got off the phone with someone in their wireless department. He was very apologetic, gave me a $20 credit for anything sold and shipped by Amazon, and upgraded shipping on the phone to next day for whenever they can get a new shipment from Nokia. Hopefully I'll get the phone within a week.

FWIW, I ordered my black 928 on 5/22, got notice on 5/23 that inventories were depleted, got another email on 5/28 at 6:48 am saying order completed processing and was ready to ship pending QA, then another email on 5/28 at 10:48 am saying it shipped.
Per FedEx (you can track it directly from the email newegg sends, FYI), my phone is on the FedEx vehicle for delivery today...woo hoo!
