    I put up a status in facebook from the 'Me' hub...But later I see it doesn't show up in the newsfeed. I checked my profile and its there alright, but no one saw it...What could be the reason?

    Could be that the permissions were set so nobody was allowed to see it (supposed to just be "Friends"). Maybe a snafu on the linkup between the People Hub and Facebook? Those happen from time to time.
