I have changed a password for my gmail account and now I cannot sync it with my phone. It keeps saying Attention required.

Settings>Email and accounts>Google>edit password.

It's not taking new password. When I was changing a Google password I have set password recovery or something. May be because of this it's not taking it?

Try deleting the gmail account from your phone and starting fresh using the new password.

If the contacts are in your gmail, they will be transferred, give a little time but it should slowly populate.

No, guys, it's not like this. Since I have set a two step process for a Google account password recovery, I had to go Google account settings and generate an application specific password. Then I had to use that password to initially add Google account to my phone.
