When setting up groups of contacts, is there a way to turn off live tile updates for the group? I am using a group pinned to my start that has my "Most Called" people. This way I can click this, scroll the list of the people I call the most, and click on the person to dial. In theory, 3 clicks to call someone.

While this works, there is a problem. The live tiles in the group. What happens is I click on the group from my start. Then, now in the group, it shows a list of pictures for each contact (updated from facebook and linked in). Though, these pictures are not always an actual picture of the person (people's facebook profile pictures can be anything). So I struggle at navigating the list because it doesn't display the name of the person, only their facebook profile picture. If I wait long enough, the live tile will show their name. This is frustrating and time consuming.

So if I can turn off live tiles somehow I would get the functionality i am looking for. If this isnt possible, is there another way to accomplish a quick list of people to call (speed dial type of thing)? On the iPhone this was called "Favorites". Every phone I have owned since 1992 has had a speed dial.

No, contact groups are always indicated by pictures, though there are several third party speed-dialer apps on the Store (several are free) that allow you to use different formats for most called people
