when using AlphaJax and Wordament im getting the error "Unable to connect to Xbox LIVE at this time. Please check your connection". i am able to access the game center and login to my xbox account (I can see my achievements, gamer score, friends etc), the issue is only occurring on games that require xbox live connection. Has anyone else experienced a similar issue? on my previous handset (HTC Radar this worked perfectly).

I am having the same issues. Alphajax, angry birds space, angry birds star wars, wordament and the smartglass application will not connect to xbox live. Alphajax will not let you play at all. Angry birds will let you play the game, but you cannot view achievements or obtain them, because I receive an error saying I need to sign into xbox live! I've had windows phone 7 (HTC HD7) with no issues at all with xbox live games, now I have the Lumia 920, and it just doesn't seem to work. I have seen other posts similiar to this, some say they solved the problem by correcting their time zone, others say the problem just went away on it's own. I've tried everything from hard reset of phone, to uninstalling the apps and reinstalling, switching off the connection to xbox live, and back on, switching phone on and off, wifi connection vs 3G/4G etc....nothing is resolving the issue. I don't know if its a problem with the apps or the phone. How many people are suffering with this problem? Does anyone have a clue to solve it?

Solved: I had this very same problem and I figured it out.

Make sure all settings are on under

o settings>application>games

Also, make sure your privacy settings (on Xbox.com or accessing it on your Xbox from the settings menu) for other people to see game activity to "everyone".

Hi Microsoft junkie, I have tried what you said above, and still no luck. For a short period of time however, Angry Birds space and star wars were working, an achievement popped on one of them, and registered in my achievement list. However after 10 minutes of playing the game, I got the message again that it was unable to connect to xbox, and then when I rechecked my achievement list, all traces of the achievement had gone, and that I had even played the game. It's so frustrating. As for Alphajax, iv'e totally given up that this will ever work on this phone, and I'm having to revert to playing it through wifi on my old HTC HD7 (windows 7.5 phone). Very strange what is happening!

Hi, I've just got off the phone to support for teh same issue and it's sorted.

Have a look in your time settings.

Even though my phone was showing the correct time on automatic, it was set to wrong time zone. Change to manual and set up the time and zone correctly. Restart the phone and try again.

This is all sorted now. It was the time & date settings. Anyone else with this issue or similiar I suggest ensuring you check these settings! I had initially set up my phone with the wrong date!

Check your privacy settings. I have tried everything else mentioned in this thread, but it wasn't until I went to "xboxlive.com" and checked my privacy settings and pretty much set everything to "Everyone". Now, it finally allows me to play Wordament.
