Hey everyone,
I changed the screen lock code on my 920 and I can't remember it. How can I resolve this? Do I have to do a hard reset? Please help. Thanks in advance.Too many phones, not enough callers - 12-06-2012, 06:28 PM #2
Unfortunately, if you can't remember it at all..you would have to do a hard reset. There is no other way around it.

Log into your windows live account at www.windowsphone.com and you can change your lock code there.
EDIT: I could not find this. :(

Who stores data on their phone anyways. All my contacts, pics and documents are in the cloud (Google, Skydrive). I could do a hard reset on my phone like everyday and it won't matter. The only pain would be my apps. They don't automatically re-install after reset (which I miss from android). Hummm....maybe I should write an app or find an app that saves this to the cloud as well.

I called AT&T and they said I have to get a new SIM card. Really? What a pain in the ****. So there's nothing I can do besides what they recommended?

Do you have Twitter? You might want to ask Windows Phone Support on Twitter. I wouldn't trust AT&T to know.

I think they are confusing it with a sim lock. SIM lock and Phone lock are 2 different things. With phone lock, you basically reset. You don't need a new SIM after that. If we required a new sim every time we had to do a hard reset, there would be a very big line outside AT&T stores.
If however you locked your SIM, than yes.. you would require a new SIM unless PUK codes are still used. - 12-07-2012, 05:18 PM

I went to a store with technicians and it was reset. Then I sent it along its merry way to my eBay buyer.
