Yeah, it's a bit annoying but they made it that way to let you know you actually hit the button. Like feedback. We really do need the option to turn it off though. :)

It is part of the OS I believe. I know some OEMS(ie: Samsung) have added "Extra Settings" to disable it on some of their devices. So far Nokia has not added this feature to allows the user to disable the feedback on the buttons. What bugs me that in a quiet room I can hear the vibration.
