On my WP7 Samsung focus it had the ability to translate my voice into a text message. Very handy for quick replies when typing was inconvenient, surprisingly this feature doesn't exist on the 920!? how come?

Um... I just did that this morning. Go to text message - click microphone icon - speak - 'magic' - text shows up...

open an actual text message, not "messages". It is there for me if I open up a text from someone.

I know I've used it on wp7 many times, but its not there on the 920. Is there something that controls it?

You can hold the home button until it pops up and say "TEXT <CONTACT NAME HERE>" and it will bring you to a text prompt with voice already enabled as well.

Hold the windows button, until it beeps

say clearly "text friend" or whoever, then it may give you a choice of numbers, then continue..
