The title says it all. Whenever the phone vibrates it sounds like something is rattling inside. I've tried holding in the SIM card tray but that wasn't it. It isn't the buttons on the side.

Anyone else have this issue?

I recall my 900 did the same thing when new. Not sure when it just became a normal vibration, but there must be a break in period...

Could it be due to the camera being mounted on springs?

The Lumia 900's vibration was weird too. It must be how Nokia does things. You get used to it.

Like said this was on Lumia 900 as well. I think it could be more about how Nokia in general builds the poly unibody.
That said i don't think i have this same problem on my Lumia 800 and N9, not that i have at least noticed it.

I am so pleased with the vibration of this phone. Never again will I miss a call or text while the phone is on vibrate in my baggy pockets. HOORAY! Every other phone I have owned had terribly weak vibrations (HTC Titan, Motorola Atrix, iPhone 4 and 3G).

It's just the motor Nokia uses in their phones. It's not the camera lens. Working as intended. Just different.

Yea, I agree, it sounds like poo. I just hope as one person mentioned above that it will slowly "break-in" and vibrate normally.

This is not normal guys. I exchanged 14, yes 14, 900s before I got a good one. Crazy enough, I have the god damn rattle on my first 920 too

I got lucky, no huge rattle on this one like my 900!! Even if I smack the back with my finger like on the 900, I hear no rattle!! YAY!!

I'm probably going to exchange mine tomorrow. 99.9999% perfect phone but that damn rattle. Loud is one thing but it sounds like a bottomed out speaker. It'd be nice if we had a setting to adjust the intensity. On some vibrations it's a nice soft hum. On others its bone jarring. :P

Not all nokia phones rattle when they vibrate. In fact, the first time I heard that was with the 900 .. and Nokia phones have been vibrating across the globe for decades before that :)

Mine has a slight rattle as well, didn't really worry me though. I'll keep using it for a week. If it gets worse then I might consider exchanging it. I had just assumed it would get better over time, once the mechanical parts wore in.

It seems that it might be from the crummy motor they used for vibration.

Maybe it is the cause but I would be pretty sad if it was true.

AT&T wouldn't "test" the phones. I had to exchange it to open it & test it.

It is pretty bad, I'm going back today to exchange it, I refuse to put up with that
