I wonna buy a new Lumia 920, but i am afraid the lumia 920 will show the purple screen phenomenon agian, cause one friend of mine tell me that the model of nokia Lumia often appear purple screen. Can you guys give me some advices?

Seeing as they haven't been released and no-one has one, this is a bit pointless.
If you are worried, go t a store and buy one so you can see it first hand, then you will know exactly what you are getting
Go to a shop and have a look at other lumia's, do they have this issue, if not, then it is just your 'friends' phone
One phone doesn't mean that the whole brand has the symptoms.

I don't think this would happen. remember this phone is not rushed like the 900. if it does have it they would likely have a fix few days later. Nokia clearly learned from their mistakes.

What are you talking there? Clear Black is a technology that comes along with S/AMOLED displays, AMOLED stands for active-matrix organic light-emitting diode, which means that's what actually brings up colors on your screen, clear black it's just a technology that makes the black to be black (lol), is as simple as that - there is no such thing as "Clearblack Display", and the "S" stands for Super, but in some cases it's pure advertising, I can give you examples if you need.

Stop spreading wrong information, thank you.

You're wrong too. Clearblack is nokias method to improve screen readability and color reproduction. Nothing to do with AMOLED, super or otherwise as it can be used with LCD screens as well,l which is what the 920 is using.

The purple hue issue had to do with a batch of Samsung displays (they are the supplier of SAMOLED screens to Nokia) not being calibrated properly, so it was a quality control issue from a supplier. Nokia corrected or with a firmware update. That won't happen again. Fool me once.....

Sounds like your friend is full of shh.... :)

The purple screen issue was fixed via an update; it was software related.

Well, if it does happen again, we know they can and will fix it. I would rather go with a company that fixes the problem rather than pretend it does not exist and you have to live with it.

    Actually you are wrong.

Clear Black is Nokia brand that means polarizing filter attached to the screen. It can be used in any kind of display type and it enhances contrast and better viewing angles, better sunlight legibility.

Lumia 710 for example has Clear Black display and it's LCD. Lumia 920 PureMotion HD+ screen also has Clear Black/polarizing filter layer.

And that purple hue has usually been AMOLED problem and PureMotion HD+ is totally new display type for Nokia so i would be surprised if there was exact same problem. N9, Lumia800/Lumia900 all shared to a point very similar screens and tech on it.
