this used to work on my focus - any idea why it does not work using the lumia browser?
https://pictures.lytro.com/browniegi...416?&_suid=495
also works fine on an iDevice
is there a way to replace the stock (read:CRAP) browser on this phone?
thanks

Opened in my L900. But there is a message noting that you need Flash Player to view the entire site. Are you sure you could view this page with an iPhone?

try setting the browser to mobile jim .. i get the "flash needed" when i have my browser set to desktop version
if you set it to mobile - then it does not load the picture - the loading bar does not move
incidentally - I just ordered one of these lytro camera's - if i cant view the pictures on a windows phone its going to be a pretty sorry state of affairs - 04-30-2012, 07:14 PM #5
Well, I believe you. But I have not had IE set to mobile view on either of my WPs in 18 months. Why. Reminds me of WAP.

well . i can confirm that it does not work on my focus either - so lytro must have updated something on the way they render the mobile version of the page
i doubt they're going to be too interested in fixing something for the windows platform - i already emailed them ..
Does anyone own a droid phone they can test this on? just go to Lytro and try to interact with the picture
if it works on the droid then the problem is with internet exploder on the windows phone
i'll try to download some different browsers and see if i can get it to load in any of them - 04-30-2012, 08:56 PM #7
Yeah, Flash. Web designers need to just drop it. Sheesh, even Adobe says it's going away eventually.
-joe-Had 'em all. Every iPhone since day one, Androids out the ****.
DVP, Lumia 900, now a Yellow 920. Windows Phone is elegant, simple. Nuff Said.

but the mobile site does not render it in flash - because it's for the iDevices - and it's this HTML 5/javascript version that is not working on the windows phone.
straw poll.. how 'compatible' is the IE implementation on WP7 wrt to javascript? is this just going to be the first of many javascript things that fail to work on this phone? - 04-30-2012, 09:39 PM #9
Well o can confirm that it works with my android device.

thanks Reelon
so much for IE being standards based then .. typical .. it's crap like this that is going to ruin this ecosystem .. I love my windows phone, but lately I've been questioning making the switch from an iDevice .. say what you will, but they own the mindshare and everything just seems to work on it. - 05-01-2012, 06:15 AM #11
I see a flower picture (1 of 1), with 2 fb likes, a place to log in etc. What am I supposed to see?
Sorry I am not familiar with that particular site. - 05-01-2012, 07:54 AM #12
I must say that it does work with my titan II also.

just to clarify - you should be able to touch anywhere on the image and the focus will shift - the lytro is a light field camera that allows you to take a picture and do the focus afterwards - I get mine in 3 days !!
I can see the picture thumbnail, but the javascript that is supposed to load to allow you to interact with it does not. it just sits there with an empty progress bar overlaid
works on an iDevice - no surprise they only seem to support apple with their image upload tool, so they're pretty much an apple focussed company, and it apparently works from a droid device
does not work on my lumia 900 or my old samsung focus - both are at 7.5 - 05-01-2012, 09:07 AM #14

Yeah. The reality of the mobile space right now is apps most often come ios first, android second, WP later if at all. If you're not comfortable with that and/or have a particular need, you might be better on another platform.
This is something I've been struggling with this upgrade cycle. Trying to be patient, but after a year and a half of waiting its hard not to start wondering if that day will ever come (this coming after a year and a half with webOS). Many things I love about wp7, but the grass cam look greener.

Apps I can handle ... sort of photosynth / insagram (cough cough) .. but this is a website that apparently works on idevices , Android phones and desktops .. so either they're doing something *that* obscure with their code in the site, or we have a very weak/buggy browser implementation. - I see a lot of complaints on reviews of the OS that call ouit the weak browsing experience, so until I hear otherwise, I'm leaning to this being the culprit.
