I pre-ordered my 900 and got it on the 6th, and I've noticed that it seems to be afflicted by the disappearing keyboard bug. It doesn't happen as frequently as it did on my 1st gen Focus, but it is definitely there.

I know the 900 was supposed to come preloaded with the fix for this bug, so I'm pretty confused as to what's going on here. I called Nokia support but all the Lumia specialists were busy, so they are going to call me back (I hope!)

Is anyone else having the same issue?

I am still seeing it, though not as often as in my 1st Gen Focus. Bought mine a week ago at the at&t store.

Thats hasn't happened to me not once. I thought this OS version included the bug fix?

My Lumia is firmware version 8112.7, and my Focus is 7720.68 (AT&T for both)

Occasionally while typing (texting, searching bing, etc) the on screen keyboard will disappear. It comes right back again when you tap the field you want to type in, but it can get pretty annoying. I hope you aren't experiencing this!

the bug is just what it sounds like, the keyboard will hide itself (as if you pushed the back button) on its own, while it hasn't happened to my l900, it did happen to my focus s before i manually updated it beyond 7720.68

As with my HTC Titan, the keyboard out of nowhere disappears and doesn't come back until you close out of the app in which you were typing on.

Thanks. Well i can happily report that i have not had that bug happen to me on my lumia 900

As far as I know the bugfix didn't completely fix this, but significantly reduced the frequency. I also don't think you need to exit the app and go back in, "usually" you can just re-tap the text field and it comes back.

I think it's happened a couple times here, though I shrugged it off since the Lumia includes the update. I thought I might have just accidentally tapped the screen somewhere else.

Either way, as said above on my Focus it was a once every 1-2 day affair (until I did the .cab update).

That makes sense, given that it happens a lot less than it did on my Focus. Just out of curiosity, where did you get that info?

Mostly got it from reading forums after the update. I have only seen it very sparsely, personally, but it could also be when you accidentally touch elsewhere on the screen. Someone else in the thread mentioned this as well.

I had it all the time on my hd7 until the 8107 update came out. I haven't seen it on my lumia 900. Maybe you are pressing something on the screen? With the keyboard problem, it happened at random, if you can duplicate it then it is a different bug

I think the update does not fix the disappearing keyboard from happening, it fixes the keyboard from never popping back up after it does disappear.

On my focus S, it would disappear and i couldn't pull it back up unless i restarted the app or whatever..

I've had it happen to me a few times on my 900, but the keyboard comes back up after clicking on the text area.

Disable the background tasks on your apps, that seems to solve the problem. The disappearing keyboard is not just a Lumia thing, in my opinion it's a bug in the Windows OS.
