Good afternoon everyone. Im sorry if this is a basic question and maybe I should know better. I just left the iPhone 4s and got a Lumia and I am trying to set it up. Im struggling with getting my contacts and calendar info to sync with the phone.
I have created a live account and I have uploaded all my contacts and calendar info to my live account. I thought that was all I needed to do. I signed into my live account with my new Lumia but nothing comes to my phone. No contacts or calendar info. What am I doing wrong. Should I set up my luve account as an exchange account? if so does anyone have the settings to do so.
Any help, I would sure appriceate it. - 04-17-2012, 04:21 PM #2

Hi, it defnitely works with Live. So you're right to assume it should have synced. I've had a few times when my Live account, hasn't synced to my phone right away.
You may want to tap on settings => email+accounts and then long tap upon your account and tap either sync or synchronise.
It may take a few attempts, but you should see it start to sync your contacts and such to your phone. Not sure why it does this, nor why it needs to be told manually to sync either.
I suspect its an error online with some of your contacts, as when I edited my contacts again, it stopped doing this rather random problem. - 04-17-2012, 04:47 PM

On the desktop I sign in and verify my contacts are there. Then from the Lumia I sign in through add an email account, but only email sync is available to check. No contacts, calendar, task etc....After adding email account on my Lumia nothing comes over, no contacts no calendar events, nothing. Mail works fine but nothing else.

Under set up on the lumia its only giving me the option to sync email. Not sure why contacts and calendar and task are not listed.

Bizarre. Mine only has a box for email too, but contacts definitely synced. Was the first thing I did after firing it up and since it worked I never even checked the settings.
Your people hub isn't populating at all??
Perhaps deleting and re-adding the account will do the trick? - 04-17-2012, 04:56 PM

I really did have an issue like this once before. You may need to edit your contacts online. Open them, save them again (what I had to do) and it should then sync. You may have to use the long tap, then sync to get them to come through after.
When I had this similar problem, it took a few long taps and sync, and it would then start syncing (Till I edited my contacts online).
EDIT: It's automatic that it will sync contacts. There is no option to stop it (as far as I know). So when you go to settings, it will only list emails as a checkbox. Just cause contacts are not listed does not mean it won't sync them. - 04-17-2012, 05:13 PM

Im not sure what Im doing wrong. I did a hard re-set and started over again but when adding the windows id I would thing it will ask you like other accounts to check off email, contacts, calendars and task. Well each time I add the windows ID account it only ask me to check off email. Wow, this is so frustrating....
